THINKMD has welcomed a new Full Stack Engineer to its team, Hans Elde. Hans’s journey to this point has been an interesting one after beginning his career in security and law enforcement. In his own words, he describes this journey and what he aims to achieve at THINKMD:
What are some of the most important lessons you have learned throughout your career, and how do you plan to apply them in your new role?
Over my career, the significance of deeply understanding fundamentals has been reinforced time and again. A strong foundation lets you build reliable solutions and troubleshoot effectively, and it forms the basis for all your future learning as well as something to fall back to when struggling with a tough problem. Paired with this is the need for continuous learning. The tech landscape never stops evolving, and to keep pace, one must remain open and adaptable. In my role at THINKMD, I aim to apply these principles by grounding my work in solid understanding of our core technologies, while also staying abreast of industry developments to ensure we’re leveraging the best and latest solutions for our goals.
What do you think are some of the most important qualities to have as a team member, and how do you plan to demonstrate them in your new role?
Flexibility and collaboration emerge as two vital qualities in effective team members. In a rapidly changing tech environment, the ability to adapt and learn new skills is key. Equally important is the ability to work well with others, sharing knowledge, learning from colleagues, and supporting joint efforts. As I start at THINKMD, I plan to embody these qualities by showing openness to new ideas and tools, willingness to step outside my comfort zone, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
What do you think sets this company apart from others in the industry, and how do you see yourself contributing to its success?
What truly distinguishes THINKMD is its mission-driven approach. Unlike many tech companies focused primarily on profits, THINKMD is dedicated to creating a product that could revolutionize global healthcare, especially for the populations in the world that need help the most. This focus on purpose over profit is not only inspiring, but it also informs the company’s strategy and values. I see my contribution to THINKMD’s success in alignment with this mission. I will use my skills to develop high-quality solutions, but more importantly, I will approach my work with the understanding that our goal is to have a positive, transformative impact on global health. This mindset will guide my decisions and efforts, helping ensure that our tech solutions are not just robust, but also genuinely beneficial to those we aim to serve.
