THINKMD was founded to develop a next generation digital tool that could lead to a decrease in the over 6 million annual deaths in children under 5 years of age, many from diseases and conditions that could be have been prevented if they were identified accurately, early on, with the implementation of an accurate care plan.
Today we took a major step in moving our mission forward with a new partnership agreement with Save the Children, one of the world’s leading international organizations focused on improving the health, security and well being of children globally. This is Save the Children’s first global digital health licensing and it builds on our partnership starting in 2017 with implementations in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Kenya.
I have been privileged to have been part of these partnerships from the beginning, working with Save the Children teams to integrate our next generation clinical assessment point-of-care digital health and data analytics technology into their programs. Together, we have demonstrated the impact this technology can have by transferring physician based thinking and skill sets to minimally skilled frontline health workers on a simple-to-use digital platform that expands their healthcare capacity, allowing them to increase access to improved integrated clinical evaluation of patients. Comprehensive triage and care plan decisions that are compliant with WHO guidelines and standards are also generated. These are the critical first steps in providing essential quality healthcare services that will lead to improved health outcomes.
Utilization of THINKMD’s clinical intelligence platform also leads to the simultaneous acquisition of key program and user metadata as well as critical clinical and population health data. This is then incorporated into our data solutions platform for key user and program monitoring and evaluation, workforce monitoring, population health and clinical disease monitoring as well as disease surveillance. This high quality data allows for better program, country and organizational decisions, supporting Save the Children in driving their health mission forward.
A major goal of this partnership is to break down entrenched barriers associated with adoption and scaling of key digital health solutions in order to rapidly expand frontline health workforces with increased healthcare capacity and quality. This should have a direct impact on access to improved primary care healthcare services. Save the Children will bring its extensive experience in child health and development in over 120 countries to ensure that the solutions are implemented in association with Ministers of Health in each country in order to meet the needs of each country and community.
Save the Children was founded more than 100 years ago, and has changed the lives of over 1 billion children in the United States and around the world. We, at THINKMD, are humbled by the opportunity to help them move their health mission forward to improve the lives of children globally.
